Air Transportation of Unaccompanied Pets or Animals

How to transport animals or pets by plane unaccompanied by the owner.

Attention: Air transportation of an animal or pet in Asia and Air transportation of abroad is possible from the age of 4 months. Microchip Certificate of the animal or the pet is a must.

First of all, you need to contact by phone or by e-mail with the managers of our company and report:

a. Transportation route;
b. Pet or Animal weight;
c. Dimensions and weight of the cell in which the Animal will fly;
d. The age of the pet or the animal;
e. Pet or Animal health certificate, microchip certificate and other documents details.

Attention: Air transportation of an animal or pet in Asia and Air transportation of abroad is possible from the age of 4 months. Microchip Certificate of the animal or the pet is a must.

The manager of our company will contact the air carrier and specify the type of aircraft planned for departure. This procedure is due to the fact that not all aircraft are equipped for transporting animals or pets. After ascertaining the type of aircraft and receiving confirmation from the airline about the possibility of transporting the animal, the managers of our company will contact you by phone or e-mail to agree with you the date and time of arrival of the animal at the airport.
You need to bring the animal or the pets along with documents and a specific cage to the cargo terminal at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport or Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport at the agreed time and date. The manager of our company meet you and promptly draw up all the necessary documents for the transportation of the animal.
The pet is put in a cage and then transferred to an employee of the cargo terminal at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport or Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport to wait for departure.

To send an animal by air you will need to have:

1) Documents of the animal:

1.1 Veterinary certificate (Form No. 1),

Veterinary certificate of form No. 1 is issued in state veterinary clinics on the basis of an examination of the animal not earlier than 5 (30 days in few countries) days before the date of departure. After a rabies vaccination, a month should pass, but not more than a year. If the animal is not vaccinated by age, appropriate marks are made.

1.2. Microchip Certificate with barcode.

1.3. Export permit from the Govt.

Export permit is required in the following cases:

• The sender and receiver of the animals are different persons when sending the animal abroad.
• Air transportation of more than two goals abroad.
• Air transportation of exotic animals.

2) A cage for transporting animals (carrying): The cage should be ventilated and be able to lock. The sample in the photo below. Sold at pet stores.

3) Absorbent material.
Absorbent material – a material capable of absorbing, absorbing moisture. This is usually an absorbent diaper for pets, sold at pet stores or pharmacies. This material will need to cover the bottom of the cell.

Sizing a container for transporting an animal

To transport an animal by air you need to choose a container, taking into account the size of your animal. After buying a container, you need to accustom the animal to this container for some times.

The dimensions of the container are easy to calculate considering the formulas below:
Container length = A + 1/2 V;
Container Width = C x 2;
Container height = D + 10 cm.

A = The length of the animal from the nose to the beginning of the tail;
B = Height from ground to joint;
C = Width;
D = Height of standing animal.
All values must be rounded up to integer values.

Note: If more than one animal is transported in the container, then the width of the container is determined by the following formulae:
a. Container length = A + 1/2 V,
b. Container Width = C x 3 (for two animals),
c. Container height = D + 10 cm.

Values A, B , C and D in such cases should be measured in the largest animal transported in the container.
