Transportation of Flowers by Air

Indo Pacific Airlines company has been engaged in the transportation of flowers for many years. Over this considerable period of time, we have accumulated considerable experience in the transportation of perishable goods like flower products.

As a rule, there are two types of flower production- a fresh cut and potted plants. For each type of product, special conditions, requirements for storage and transportation are applied.

To transport flowers by air in the summer:

fresh cut is placed in the refrigerator to avoid spoilage of products,
potted plants are placed on ventilated storage racks.

Most important issue when transporting flowers by air is the packaging. This procedure should be treated with special attention by specialist. The preservation of flowers and their presentation depends on how correctly packaging of flower products will be made during its journey.

As a rule, the outer packaging of flowers is cardboard boxes. Inside the boxes, the flowers are wrapped in thick paper. Next, the boxes are sealed at the corners with special seals.

Depending on the season in which air transportation of flowers is carried out, additional packaging is carried out like foam rubber insulation.

Turn over, turn over boxes with plants during the air transportation of flowers is not allowed, as this leads to damage of plants, separation of the bud from the stem and loss of the plant from the pot.

Flowers are transported by air on the day the goods are delivered to the departure airport warehouse on a pre-booked flight.

Air transportation of flower products is carried out on airplanes with heating/ ventilation of cargo compartments. This provides a comfortable temperature for the flight of flowers and plants, and also avoids freezing flowers, blackening buds or triggering of temperature sensors

Our company works seven days a week. Our staff will help your forwarder to quickly arrange for the transportation of flowers at the cargo warehouse of the airport of departure, submit documents to phytosanitary control and place flower products in the airport warehouse for departure.

The managers of our company will advise you on matters of interest, the necessary documents for the transport of flowers by air, and also reserve a quota (cargo space) for the flight of flower products on the flight.
